Bellevue University was founded in 1966 as a private higher learning institution. They are a non-profit organization that is regionally accredited through the Higher Learning Commission. The main campus, which is in Bellevue, is 46 acres. There are additional campuses in Nebraska and other campuses spread throughout the four neighboring states. Over 50,000 students have graduated from Bellevue University. Every year, over 10,000 students attend the campuses and their robust distance education program. The undergraduate and graduate populations are made up of approximately 50 percent men and 50 percent women. Most students are between the ages of 25 to 34 year. Online students come from all 50 states. There are international students from all of the world, many of which come through Bellevue University’s partnership with Guangzhou University in China. At any time, there are between 1,000 to 2,000 military service members enrolled in degree programs.
Bellevue University offers around 70 degrees and career advancement certificates through their College of Business (COB), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Science and Technology (CST) and College of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). Bellevue University is currently upgrading the campus to increase information access and sharing.
