One of the biggest foreseeable problems with this tax plan is the effect it would have on the poor. Many of the lower income Americans would feel the strain of these taxes. While the plan evens the taxes out over everyone as equally as possible, it will be especially hard on those with the lowest incomes. The reason why it would be hard is because our system is set out to help the poor a little. At least in taxes it is, switching from an income tax to a consumption tax could really put an added strain because the current system favors the citizens with lower incomes with a slightly lower tax percentages, while the X tax would show no favoritism
