Argumentative Essay On Space Program

The United States Space program is so expensive that to fund , every citizen would have to give the government $54 yearly . That’s an average of 20 billion dollars since 1964. Our Space program should be ended permanently. Our national debt is already high in our imperfect country and at a time like this, space seems to be less important than our countries problems. Our space program budget is astronomical. While we are debating on ending welfare, we just spent millions of dollars for a spaceship to fly past a planet, slap it, and bring back a sample of the planet. Outer space could be very interesting, but we have things here we have to worry about. The United States has a problem with prioritizing. On Average the United States spends 20 billion dollars on space since 1964. That’s a total of $1,063,000,000 since 1964. According to Ajaun Peter, of Scholastic Scope, “The crash of SpaceShipTwo was the second space disaster in less than a week. Three days earlier, a spacecraft packed with supplies for the International Space Station exploded 16 seconds after launch. The problem with that is that we need to learn how to conserve our planet because if we don’t, we’d destroy our planet and the other planet of resources. That was also the idea of imperialism and that was a bad time in our world. We should not want to repeat history. Especially such a horrid time in history. Another person might say that when we’ve destroyed this planet by used all of the natural resources , we need somewhere else that could be inhabitable. The problem is that we are destroying this planet so instead of looking for plan b, we need to save plan
