Other vs Self In today’s America it is becoming more difficult to distinguish from a non-immigrant from an immigrant. Currently thirteen percent of the United States was born outside of the United States. Now with this information being put into your head think about how we are supposed to handle the immigrants coming into the U.S. We can take the words of Donald Trump and “BUILD A WALL” or we can take the more logical way and let in the immigrants. Not just from Mexico yet, moreover the entire world. While this can be at surface level about immigration the true root of this argument is do we care more about us, U.S born citizens, or them, immigrants? Should we value the lives of the thousands of people who will die because they cannot get into the U.S or should we take the chance and let them in? The correct answer would be to let in the thousands upon thousands who are waiting to get in and enjoy this becomes the job of the FBI, NSA, and other anti-terrorist organizations to find them and end their plot whatever it should be. Ever since 9/11 we, as American people have been scared of people from the Middle East and the recent tragedy in Paris has only made it worst. But we should not be afraid of these people, yet let them in and learn their ways mingle with each other become friends instead of just driving away. For example, when your mom cooks food that doesn’t look so good on the outside so, naturally, you don’t want to eat it and she say “you won’t know if you don’t like it unless you try It.” this is a perfect example for this situation. We will not know if letting in Syrian refugees would be such a bad thing unless we try it. For example if we were to open our borders and there was a major attack on the U.S soil by a PROVEN Syrian immigrant then yes at that point in time we should close our borders because quite frankly the lives of Americans were lost. But, that has not happened and will not happen if we up our efforts in the security department targeting more
