If the south would have won the Civil War the whole United States would have been split into two separate nations. There would be the United States of America and the Confederates States of America. The United States would consist of 39 states. The Confederate States of America would be split into the original 11 seceding states plus the entire West Indies because they would have invaded the West Indies and gained the whole entire West Indies through the technique of attrition. The United States would not have claimed Hawaii but they would have claimed Nova Scotia, therefore Hawaii would have been a Philippine Island. The United States would have been the more powerful state because of their superior knowledge and resources. A good example would be the movie “The Outsiders.” The north would be the “Socs,” the superior country with more money. And the south would be the the “greasers,” the less smart but more caring country. The North and South would eventually become allies like the US and Great Britain are today.

For example 9/11 would not have happened. Many actual past presidents would not have been elected and president’s so the US would be completely different. The US would not be as involved in foreign affairs as they are now because they would be a newer union. For example the US and Europe would not be as close allies because it would be isolated. Many wars would not have happened such as the Vietnam War, Korean war, and the Afghanistan war because there wouldn’t be tension between the US and those countries.
