The strategic plan is not specific to the nursing program, but is geared toward the viability and sustainability of the college which includes the nursing program. At the successful completion of a nursing program, students are eligible to sit in on (NCLEX-RN) to earn a Registered Nurse licensure. The college has a unique program outline. The ADN program is a five semester program in which general education courses (English, Human Anatomy, Human Growth and Development, etc.) can be taken along with nursing courses, alleviating an extra year for completing pre-requisites. This system allows traditional and non- traditional students to complete the nursing program in five semesters, no pre-requisite courses. Students may choose this program as a means to get into the work force more expeditiously. The uniqueness of the program outline can also be a bargaining power of suppliers (the college). Another unique characteristic of the college is that it is a single gender setting(female).
