The United Kingdom was founded on May 1, 1707. It is believed that the Celtics were the first to inhibit Great Britain. They arrived in the country around 500 to 100 BC. The Greek navigator Pytheas was the first to mention the Island. He explored the coastline in 325 BCE. Great Britain was a very strong country, but like everyone else they had problems and events that helped structure the count. One event was the strife between Whigs and Tories it lasted from 1707-1721. Great Britain was under the rule of Queen Anne. The Tories supported the monarchy and church. The Whigs supported parliament instead of the monarchy. At this time Great Britain was at war with France. It was a religious and political struggle for parliament and the crown. …show more content…
She was born in May 24, 1819. She was born in London, England. Her full name is Alexandrina Victoria. Victoria became queen at the age of 18. She was his queen of Ireland and Great Britain from 1837. She also was an empress of India from 1877 until she died in 1901. She was taught how to be a queen by her first Prime Minister Lord Melbourne. She married her cousin in 1840 he was the prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He could hold any hold any official political position because the people of Britain did really trust a German prince. The queen had nine children; Prince Albert became the queen’s strongest ally. The queen isolated from people for 25 years after her husband passed away in 1861. She experienced an expansion in building railways, bridges, industry, and underground sewers. Britain doubled its size. She was a strong supporter of the British Empire. People also celebrate for long hours. Great Britain is diverse some ethnicity are Indians Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Black African, and black Caribbean. More than 50% Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshi identify them self as British only. Less than 50% of whites, Black African, and black Caribbean identify themselves as British only.
