The unforgettable Christmas
Ah, good old Christmas, time for cheer and listening to "Jingle Bells" blaring through the radio in every store and the convivial event of lights and large Christmas trees overwhelming the surroundings. Christmas brings such a lovely, warm feeling that 's difficult to describe. The vibe of the holiday just makes me feel jovial. I adore Christmas, well the idea of it. I watch "Home Alone" all through December because I envy Kevin 's huge family. Even though they drove him crazy, it must 've felt wonderful to have all those people that love and care about him to celebrate the holidays with. I envision the ideal Christmas as sitting around a long, rectangular dinner table with parents, siblings,

The dilemma that I 've never had a big family stood in my way. I live with my mom and step dad, and my step siblings live in Miami and have their own families to celebrate Christmas with. My grandparents live in Russia and don 't celebrate any American holidays. My family has never put an importance on holidays. We don 't make a turkey or pie for Thanksgiving and we rarely decorate our house except for a Christmas tree. We don 't have friends or any family to invite to our house to have a big celebration, but anything would 've sufficed. Sometimes I have to be reminded on Christmas Day because we never do anything. We just sit around the house, watching movies and the day passes by like any other. It 's rather depressing, actually. I feel that the Christmas I 've dreamed of, is nothing but a dream. I don 't even care about the presents, I just want as big family to sit around the table and eat dinner …show more content…
I took off my flour-covered apron and slipped into the outfit. I checked my curled hair to make sure it looked alright and walked out to the dining room. The amazing sight of my whole family, including my mom, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews, all seated, delighted me. I felt nervous because I had no idea what was going on, but just went along with it and smiled as wide as I could. Leylani came to the head of the table, where I stood, and lifted her glass of champagne. My siblings and parents did the same, and my nieces and nephews held up their fancy glasses of apple

The time of Christmas and holidays should be a time of happiness but things like this should have the appropriate time and place. Melanie Springer Mock, in her article “Separation of Church and State: A war on Christmas and Other Misguided Notions,” recounts her celebrations of the birth of Jesus. Mock purpose is to urge those who are not Christian are and still left out since the separation of the church from the government. She adopts a sentimental tone in order to appeal to the similar feelings and experience of those who are religiously segregated from others. Mock uses irony to make her purpose clear.…

A Christmas Carol Analysis I have loved A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens since I was little so I was very excited to see how Michael Daehn brought this iconic story to life. In his version, I believe that Daehn wanted to convey the heart of this story. To share the message of hope and selflessness and redemption and perhaps to inspire and enlighten the audience. By choosing to use a version of this play that incorporates music he not only brought this story to life but brought the audience into the story.…

In “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote, friendship causes people to become closer because it causes Buddy and his friend to go out of their way to give each other a gift and it also causes them to be inseparable. First, Buddy and his best friend become close because friendship causes them to go out of their way to make each other happy. For example, Buddy’s friend really wants to get Buddy a bike (she even tries to sell a cameo to her Papa to get money) but because she had very little money, she just makes him a kite. Even though the friend gives Buddy a present, she feels bad that she did not get Buddy the gift she would have liked to give him. This shows that they are really close because the friend had the urge to sacrifice something of…

I don 't believe I have missed a single "Countdown to Christmas" movie this year on the Hallmark Channel nor its sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. While I have my personal favorites, there is no denying that a massive hit this year was their film A Heavenly Christmas starring Eric McCormack, Kristin Davis, and the legendary Shirley MacClaine. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this film, and when I discovered that Gregg McBride was the screenwriter for this Yuletide treat, I quickly reached out to him for an interview. I was incredibly elated when he responded (and so quickly too). Gregg graciously agreed to answer a few questions about his passion for writing, his personal struggles in his own life, and even a bit about his future…

After a couple of more years of teaching I decided to switch to my other work choice of being a Veterinarian Technician because I would get to be home with the kids more often and also I would be able to work with animals which is a good thing because I wouldn’t have to stay at my job for eight plus hours. Where when I was teaching I would have so much homework to grade I would not get done until ten o 'clock at night before I could even spend one on one time with my kids. Now it is December 20th quite literally five days before my son’s first Christmas and I have no idea where we are going to celebrate it at because my parents want me to come to their house, Toby’s parents want us to come to them and my Grandparents want us to go to their house for Christmas. Our First Anniversary was spent with the kids we went to the Indianapolis Zoo and out to Chinese, but now that a really holiday is here everybody wants us. We are thinking that we should go to his parents in London, England because we went trick or treating with my parents for Halloween and we can go to my grandparents for…

Upon seeing A Christmas Carol on the night of Friday, November 18th, I had what I thought to be a firm understanding of the Charles Dicken’s classic. It was until the show was over that I realized my previous interpretation was completely senseless, with little to no opinion deriving beyond the script. As I dove into the performance in the Joan C, Edwards playhouse, I made personal connections that I had never made before when watching other adaptions of A Christmas Carol, in particular Scrooge (1970), my father’s favorite. Every detail of this performance aided in my overwhelming positive review, asserting this play as my favorite of all the revisions I have seen.…

The chapter book I have chosen to write about is Christmas in Camelot by Mary Pope Osborne, which is a part of the Magic Tree House series. This series is about two kids: Jack and Annie, who find a magical, time traveling tree house. In this book, they receive an invitation to come to Camelot for Christmas, but when they get there, no one is celebrating Christmas. They find out that a spell has been cast on Camelot that took all the joy and celebration from the people and three Knights of the Round Table are missing after King Arthur sent them to retrieve the joy. It is up to Jack and Annie to go on an adventure to rescue the knights and bring the joy back to Camelot.…
