Even though it hurts to see the man and woman who are experiencing a certain type of sexual problem, dysfunction or infections, I would be able to apply my knowledge about these topics when I encounter these situations. At the same time, I would be able to relate to how they are feeling and experiencing, and possibly encourage them. With my current knowledge, I could do more research on how the brain is affected by the trauma that a person is associated with the certain relationships, and whether what techniques could be applied to improve the trauma, and the person as a whole. I could also research more on the impact of sexual problems, dysfunction, and infections on the brain. Despite its fundamental role in human life, there has been surprisingly little research into the neurological control of human sexual behavior (Baird, Wilson, Bladin, Saling, & Ruetens, 2007, p. 1042). According to Baird et.al., not much is known about hypersexuality and its effects on the brain (2007, p. 1042). This research would probably be most valuable to counselors in treating a person with hypersexuality or any paraphilia. Therefore, I can also apply sexuality in my small part of counseling clients about the issue or situation they face. I would be able to use the proper terms and define them that would be understandable to common people, who are not familiar with the terms used in human sexuality. I would be able to properly educate others about what I have learned about their situation. For example, if someone was experiencing a sexual problem and has never heard of the terminology used to describe the problem, I would be able to explain it to him or her in the simplest and understandable way.
