The Vietnam War was the North Vietnamese and the South Vietnam, its main ally, pitted long and costly conflict, the communist regime, known as the Confederate States. After the war power-up of the communist Vietnam party in Ho Chi Minh City and northern Vietnam (this extends to the middle of this conflict back to the 1940's in the area but) started in 1954 and continued two world superpowers between the intense Cold War Background: United States and the Soviet Union.
