David didn't seek revenge on Saul because he knew that God would ultimately confront Saul. God obviously knew what David,and the Israelites needed undeterred by the difficult season he faced. There have been countless situations where I've conspired revenge on someone or even multiple people only because they communicated something spiteful or treated me rudely. David opted for no revenge on the one who was attempting to take his life. David admired God and His selection of the king. A rich man by the name of Nabal was shearing sheep in Carmel. He had a beautiful wife named Abigail. Nabal himself nonetheless was a very hard man. David sent some of his men to Nabal's to inquire about food. Nabal challenged who these men were and refused to assist them. David's reaction to Nabal's response was revenge. He commanded his crew to secure their swords because they were ready for vengeance. David chose to take matters in his own hands. He didn't trust God in that moment. Someone told Abigail that David was on his way to kill Nabal and their household. God used Abigail to terminate David's plan to murder Nabal. Abigail gathered some food and encountered David on the road. She persuaded David not to cause unnecessary bloodshed. In the end, God dealt with Nabal by striking him and causing his heart to die within him. God took care of David even when he attempted to take control of the situation in his own
