In the Turn Of The Screw by Henry James, Peter Quint looked after Miles, who lived at his Uncle’s house with his sister after his parents died. Miss Jessel was a governess who looked after his sister Flora. Peter Quint was Miles tutor, however his relationship with him was a little too close to Miles suggesting a sexual relationship between the two.
Miles meet Peter when he came to live with his uncle after his parents died. His uncle does not want to deal with Miles so he hires people to take care of him. He hired Peter to tutor Miles in school. Miles would spend a lot of time with Peter. This is the start of Peter and Miles relationship because this is when they meant.

Then one day the governess received a letter in the mail, that informed her that Miles was expelled for school and would not to be welcome to ever come back. The Uncle, not wishing to be bothered with his brother’s children, told the governess to deal with all things relating with the kids. The governess does not know why Miles got kicked out of school, but she knows he is a nice boy from want Mrs.Grose had to say and after meeting him she came to the same conclusion. After Miles arrived home, the governess notice a stranger in the tower and she never laid eyes on him before. a ghost in a tower and it was Peter Quint. The governess kept it to herself because she thought she was going crazy. Then later on she saw him again looking through a window. Then the governess went outside to see who he was looking at through the window and his ranged would have been Mrs.Grose.The governess was frightened so she went and told Mrs.Grose about what she had seen in the tower and through the window. After the governess described the man in the tower, she was informed that the person she had observed was a ghost and his name was Peter. Then Mrs.Grose inform the governess that Peter was only close with one person, Miles. Mrs. Grose said “ He was looking for little Miles”. (pg25) Showing how important Miles was to Peter. Miles just wants to forget what had happen between Peteer and him. Miles lies awake at night thinking about Peter Quint and what had happened in that house. Miles tell the governess, “I lie awake and think.” (pg 6) He is thinking about his assault because the ghost and the house remind him of the relationship that they shared. Miles finds it better when he is a way from the house because he sleeps better and he is not remind of memories of Peter. The governess can tell that Miles doesn’t want to be there.
