The Turing Supernatural Events

“I was starting to understand that the children had secrets. Their quicky silent glances were like a private language invented to keep strangers- like me- from finding out what they did not want me to know.” This was said by the main character Jack. He is spending his summer on a private island. The Puritans would ban the novel The Turning due to the supernatural events, not law abiding citizens and the sins that take place. The Puritans would oppose the book The Turing because of the supernatural events. There’s no wifi and no cell service. The characters have to write letters back and forth. In the beginning Jack gets off a boat and is followed by a bird that starts to talk to him. The bird is a seagull and it is warning Jack to turn back and to get off the island. Having no wifi and cell service makes it harder for Jack to talk to his loved ones at home and is a nightmare itself. After the seagull warns Jack, Jack sees and image of an old couple. A old couple drowned and died in the waters next to haunted house. The supernatural events are played throughout the story were ghost are believed to be real. The novel talks about a couple that was murdered or they died by accident. Murder is a sin and against the law. The seagull mentioned earlier, screams “Jack Don’t Do This! Turn Around.” Jack refuses to listen to the warnings and does not do what he is told. He told his dad that he would make money that he needs. He fails and lies to his father in one of the letters. Even though they know a couple died by the shore. Jack and the others refused once again to listen to the supernatural animals that try to explain that the island is not
