As I have read more of the Bible, and listened to more sermons, I have realized that the Bible is not simply an account of God’s works, it is also composed of letters, songs, and poems. I have heard many preachers talk about the different writing styles of John, Paul, Matthew, and other authors and prophets. Based on what I have read, I know that there is a definitive difference between the Gospels in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, the most obvious example of a unique writing style is Psalm. There is also a striking difference among the books of the Pentateuch. Because of this, I now believe that the literal Words in the Bible were influenced by their human writer, and that the story of the Bible, the truths, and the prophecies came from God. I also believe that the Holy Spirit teach each Christian differently, and thus God is able to speak to us even though we are reading words written by another person. Even though my beliefs about the Bible stem from my education in church and youth group, it is my personal belief that the Bible is true. Every connection between the Old and New Testaments, every prophecy, every promise, every historical account leads me to believe that the Bible is more than just book of parables. I also believe in the validity of the Bible because of my personal relationship with God. I believe that God can and does speak those who read the Bible, regardless of whether or not they are a
