The Truth about Truman book review
Summary
This book is about a girl named Lilly. She was popular until a person online with a username of milkandhoney started posting stuff about her on a website called truthabouttruman.com. The website was made by a girl named Zebby and a guy named Amr. Zebby and Amr are best friends. They used to be friends with Lilly, but Lilly made new friends when she went to camp and ditched Zebby and Amr. Lilly got bullied so much she ran away from home because she didn’t want to go to school. They ended up finding her and she went to go confront milkandhoney. Lilly said something mean about a kid named Trevor’s mom, and two days later his mom actually died. So he always wanted to get revenge. Then he made the username

A character I would like to be would be Amr because he is really smart and knows a lot about computers. He also is responsible and knows how to make websites. He is good to his friends like Zebby. He comes home on time to pray. (64)
Literary Allusion
This story reminds me of a movie called “Cyberbully” because like Lilly a girl gets cyberbullied and she tries to kill herself. She tries to kill herself because she doesn’t want to be getting bullied not just at school but now on the internet. Lilly just tries to run away and stay in a treehouse she used to play in. (60)
Evaluation
I liked this story because it was entertaining and suspenseful. I liked how no one knew who anonymous was and how they kept trying to figure it out. I also like how in the end Lilly ran away and everyone was trying to find her and Amr had a good guess of where she was. Then they found her and she didn’t want to go back to that school. (69)
Reflection
I think this title does fit the book because most of the stuff happens on the truthabouttruman.com website like Lilly getting cyberbullied. A question in this book I had in this book that I would’ve liked to be answered was a question like “What did Lilly do at her new school?” Another question I had was “Did Trevor’s guardian ever find out what he did?”

From order of President Truman, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thus ending World War Two. President Truman’s hasty decision is not one to be honorable. This choice by the president was made with ignorance, lack of empathy, and lack of critical thinking. The “Petition to the President” was an appeal to the government, but more importantly directed towards President Truman suggesting that there are other options versus a direct attack on Japan. The cosigners, team of 67 scientists responsible for the creation of the atomic bomb wanted to inform Truman the destructive power and grave consequences that could lead if the atomic weapon is used. The scientist would argue that Truman should offer Japan surrendering terms, not destruction and loss of life. However, the petition did not reach its intended audience and therefore, one must wonder what could have happened if it did.…

It is said that a single man can learn much from predicting the future, yet they fail to acknowledge the past. Society does not realize that the past is what makes the decisions of the presents which eventually led to the events that unfold in the future. Now, knowing that history is a reference that we refer to as in the past, then why should we not study it and learn from it. Furthermore, history is full of wars and more than often wars led to a reconstruction era for either side involved and that is the universal rule. Therefore, Greece was not exceptions to this rule, having been completely destroyed economically and politically due to the effect of World War II which lasted six grueling years from 1839-1845.…
