The Truth About Pediatrics
Restoration is the goal of any healthcare worker, bu to a pediatrician the future is the main focus. There are many similarities between pediatricians and the average doctor, but there are also many factors that clearly divide the two professions. While doctors and other healthcare specialists work hard to save lives everyday, pediatricians devote their time to children. They research, study, and provide treatment for those who are helpless and unable to understand the severity of their condition. They stand with children as they battle cancer and other illnesses. There are also different specialists in the doctoral field. Surgeons, cardiac specialists, phlebotomists are a handful of the professionals in that play a role in the health of the general public. Each of these specialists work with each other in an attempt to provide the best care for their patients. These kind of specialists don’t have a particular age preference and will accept anyone who is in need of help. Many specialists don’t want to be confined to just one particular age group so their role is to help everyone according to their field of practice.
Not only is working with children a reward on its own, but the salary is also a main benefit of pediatrics. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics “They earned an average income of $168,650 in 2010” (Kokemuller, 1). When in pediatrics, one can expect very high pay in any area of the field.
