During the season I had a totally different life style, I no longer went out late with my friends or did anything to take my eyes off the prize, 5 days a week I would wake up go for a run, go to school, go to practice, go home and sleep the other two days I would work out independently. Before y season started I set goals for myself and taped them to my ceiling so that they were the last thing I saw at night and the first thing I saw in the morning. I didn’t set extremely high goals like to be a state champ or go undefeated that’s crazy I would hate to go undefeated because you have to lose, losing is what makes you a better competitor, being able to accept losses and get back up and drive harder is what makes one a stronger competitor. Training means nothing if you can’t compete, the season was crazy I earned a lot of tough wins, some I was the underdog, some were comebacks and some were just tough. Going into our home tournament I was not projected to be in the finals, I changed people’s minds in my semifinal match when I beat a kid ranked 3rd in Nassau county. After that it was on to the finals, my match in the finals is one match I will never forget I wrestled for 16 minutes back and forth when a traditional match is only supposed to be six minutes. It was a battle! Triple overtime I was exhausted and I felt like giving up but the crowd was ecstatic everyone was chanting my name giving me that internal drive not to give up. After I scored the winning point the noise level in the gymnasium quadrupled as soon as I stepped off the mat my whole team and a bunch of friends from the crowd ran down the bleachers and surrounded me congratulating me, my two friends picked me up and put me on their shoulders I felt like the king of the world. Also during the county tournament I was losing 6-4 in the third period in that situation a lot of people would have just stopped and gave up did i? No I fought and fought and won via pinfall in the last 22seconds of the match. All the work and time you invest in something you are passionate about does indeed pay off. In conclusion many people find the true definitions of hard work and dedication when
