The Trinity is the central dogma of every Christian religion. Catholics believe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit make up one God. “The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are co-eternal and co-equal” (page 1 St. Athanasius). “Each are distinct Persons, each Person is fully God, and there is only one God” (page 1 Matt Perrman). Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirt.” When Catholics are baptized, they are not baptized in the name of three different gods, but three divine persons in one God. However, each part of the Trinity has a different role. God, the Father, sent Jesus, his only son, into the world to save humans. According to Scripture, God is in command. God was the planner of our salvation. Because of Jesus’s death and resurrection, he accepted our salvation.

Jesus, the Son, came to Earth to save us from sin. Jesus’s role is to serve His father, God. “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38)

The Holy Spirits role is to take care of all Christians while they are living. The ways the Holy Spirit helps Christians is numerous. He is present through Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual gives as well. He does the will of God, the Father, and God, the Son. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you . . . When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me.” John 14:26;

    He was sent to Earth to try and repair our failing world, through the power of prayer. Even as the Son of God, he was struck with pain and suffering at the hand of non believers, such as Pontius Pilate, who had him crucified and put to death. On the third day, we believe he resurrected from the dead, and met up with his disciples. After forty days of preaching God’s word to everyone, he ascended up to Heaven, and was seated at the right hand of his Father (God). Catholics believe that there will be a time that Jesus will return to us eventually, and we will share eternal happiness with our Messiah in Heaven.…
