God must be coordinating with the Snake in order to test Mankind’s obedience to Him. I came to this conclusion when after carefully reading the text, I could find no purpose for the tree other than to be a test for Mankind. Placing the tree in the center of the garden and calling it off limits is just asking Mankind to try it. After Mankind resisted the temptation, God needed another way to test Mankind to see if they were impervious to persuasion. This is precisely when the Serpent enters, tempting Mankind. This is similar to what happens in “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”. When Mankind required a helper, God created all the creatures before splitting Mankind into Man and Woman, “The LORD God said: It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suited to him...This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; This one shall be called ‘woman,’ for out of man this one has been taken” (Genesis 2.18-23). The lack of any thought required shows that God was familiar with the process of splitting one being into two in order to satisfy beings. Since there were no creatures nor any other beings mentioned prior to Man other than God. From this, we can only assume that God must have done this with himself. The split would not have been a physical one with God, but more of a mental one. This would be to allow God to tempt and test his creations in order to see how they respond to different scenarios and the extent of their obedience without making it clear that he manipulating
