What Was Hitler A Cause Of Ww2 Analysis

Of the most prominent causes of the Second World War, the biggest was evidently Hitler’s rise to power. Though the outcomes of the Treaty of Versailles, the failure of the League of Nations and the failure brought about by appeasement played their own roles in the beginning of the war, it was Hitler’s tyrannical and assertive nature, and his motives that drove everything forward, leading the countries involved in the specific direction of World War II. Due to his efforts, and the way that he took advantage of Germany’s dire situation before the war began, he was able to fulfil his ideals of conflict throughout Europe. Though the other causes (particularly the Treaty of Versailles) made Hitler able to gain the power that he did, it was he himself that drove the motion of the war forward, enabling it to become as extensive as it did.

Many countries, including those involved within the League of Nations, thought that appeasing Hitler by letting him get away with breaking the Treaty of Versailles would keep the peace, so nothing was done in the way of stopping him. The Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, in particular believed that by keeping Germany and its allies satisfied with appeasement instead of confrontation would prevent conflict between the countries, and therefore allowed Hitler to continue breaking the treaty without being opposed (Grant 2004 p.4). While Germany continued with its Anschluss ideal, the concept that all German speaking countries should be a part of Germany (BBC 2014), the League of Nations continued to allow it, resulting in Germany being able to conquer Austria and a portion of Czechoslovakia.
