Therefore, companies are able to purchase sufficient quantity of goods for the increasing needs. IoT can also use for the product return or exchange. With the sensor installed at the mailbox, people can track their order status; for the return or exchange condition, people can also send the message to inform logistic companies to come and pick up the goods.
Today’s transportation also got influence by the Internet of Things. With the connected devices, the industry is changing to be smarter, more efficient and lower costs. There are several types of transportation that can be used with the supply chains.

According to the article from the Intel, it states that “Freight shipping is massive and rapidly expanding global industry, accounting for roughly 8 to 10 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) worldwide.” (Smart Freight Technology, n.d.) Therefore, the mission for the logistic providers is to follow the schedule and deliver the goods as estimated. However, there is always a gap between the system records and reality scenario. It is also the reason why people sometimes fail to achieve their expectation- the recorded data does not always match with the reality, and the more human interaction in the transferring process, the less accuracy and less reliability the information people may get at the end. To solve this issue, Intel innovate a new approach by making the freight smart. After installed the sensors and gateway devices, the system can automatically record the real-time information and send back companies. As the logistic provider, there is always some uncertain factors that cause the delay of the delivery, for example, weather, accidents, etc. In the shipping process, the logistics are usually provided through the third party, the whole process become complex when there are huge amounts of shipping vehicles ready to go to different destination. What’s more? The updates of the information for the database may go wrong or out of date since people need to input and output the data frequently. However, with the application of Internet of Things (IoT), the sensors on the fleet can coordinate each function on the vehicles (temperatures, speeds) and record the real-time data into the existing systems and big data analytics, which will build better quality and accuracy for the logistic process. Moreover, the cloud also saves the data, so even with the bad connection, the
