However, you are the only thing stopping you from reaching your goals. Presently, I am answering a call to adventure by trekking an odyssey beyond the known safety of my home, which requires a death of the child psyche in order to resurrect the adult personality, thus, enriching my own life and other people’s lives. The only way to fulfilling my soul’s adventure is by slaying the dragon and getting rid of the conscious that clamps down on my journey to expand the horizon. “The Force” is within my character reminding me to reject boundaries. It doesn’t matter how much sleep I don’t get. It doesn’t matter how much work I put in. It doesn’t matter how hard the work because success is tough work. It is every day working at it and working at it. The Ariadne’s thread or logic in me can show the way to the truth and slay the dragon. Teachers will offer guidance as the journey progresses through the years. I intentionally want to take this journey of exploring my opportunities at STLCOP to feel alive and transformed during the trials and revelations. How one comprehends new situations and the way feelings translate into actions defines each individual. Therefore, the transition from high school to college is more than a change of schools, but results in a change of one’s way of life. That is because other transitions are taking place at the same time, most notably, the shift from childhood into adulthood. The result of these transitions will determine how the next generation of people influences the future of the world by discovering the power lies within the individual

A motif that haunts the months of college applications and preparation is the daunting idea of seniors entering into the "real world." An alleged, new realm of reality that discredits the validity of the last few years in high school, not to mention the three before that and all the experiences previously. This concept coincides seamlessly with the idea that college is a beacon of newfound adulthood. Even so, each student's differing personality, aspirations, culture and tribulations falsifies the belief that adulthood is that straightforward. Thus, in order to define the moment that marked my transition into adulthood, I must first define what being an adult means to me.…
