Blackfish tells us there are over 70 cases regarding trainer deaths caused by orcas. Each SeaWorld Park holds over 600 pages of recalling unanticipated behaviors of the orcas towards the trainers and nearly 100 of those pages includes incidents of the whales physically hurting the trainers. In SeaWorld Orlando Florida on February 24, 2010; Dawn Brancheau was killed by one of their bull whales, Tilikum, also known as Tilli. She suffered from a broken jaw, a dislocated elbow, a fractured vertebra, and so much more.…
Also with the help of CNN, a news station that many people trust, airing the documentary helps make it more plausible with the information being shown. In one of the many interviews being bared throughout the documentary to show credible information how the whales are treated, they interviewed former Director of Sealand, Steve Huxter. Huxter admitted to the terrible abuse the whales in his park faced. While training their new orca Tilikum, they would pair him with a trained orca and if Tilikum did not do what he was told then both whales would be punished. Deprived of food to keep them hungry, the trained orca became frustrated with Tilikum and would rake him with his teeth as payback.…
One day three whales were performing at Sealand, the trainer was on the platform because they aren't allowed to get in the water with the orcas. The trainer took a misstep and slipped in the water, she started to pull herself out but a whale grabbed her boot and pulled her back in. The owners told reporters that it wasn’t Tilikum that pulled her in but the people who were watching it happen said it was him because they saw the floppy dorsal fin. Sealand was shut down and Tilikum was moved to Seaworld where he would probably have a better life, right?…
This event caused Sealand to close down and sell Tilikum to Seaworld. The condition was that Tilikum would be used for breeding purposes only.…
Throughout the film, there was several former Sea World trainers that were interviewed. They all talked about what would go on at Sea World and what they were doing with the orcas. Ethos is shown in the way that former Sea World trainers spoke in the perspective of being against the corrupt treatment of the orcas. The former trainers would work with the orcas on a daily basis and they knew they weren’t doing the right thing with them. The former Sea World trainers knew how violent the orcas eventually became.…
Why don’t you ask the 150 orcas that have been taken into captivity from the wild? In fact, 127 of them are now dead due to the cruelty by humans. Tillikum, a very well-known orca, is known for being a bad behaved orca because of a few incidents. But why is it that we blame Tillikum rather than SeaWorld or these incidents?…
On February 21, 1991 SeaWorld trainer Keltie Byrne a SeaWorld trainer tripped into a pool holding ,three Orcas at the time, one of them being Tilikum, the largest orca held in captivity. Byrne was dragged to the bottom of the pool and subsequently drowned. In another incident, another trainer was killed in a barbaric attack. The trainer, Dawn Brancheau was scalped and dismembered. She broke several bones before she drowned to her death.…
In reality, the blame should have been placed on the parks. They are the ones responsible for capturing the whales and not properly informing trainers of the dangers they may encounter. Scientific information on these animals is beneficial to have, but not at the expense of the animals and the people working with them lives. While The Guardian believes that zoos are entitled to confining animals to cages in zoos, I do not believe they should be showcased for mere entertainment and revenue.…
He has not been victim of any attacks despite working as a killer whale trainer for several years. Even though he witnessed many incidents he remains as a trainer for Tilikum. He does it for Tilikum because he feels sorry for what has happened to the whale and how Seaworld and Sealand have treated TIlikum and other whales. This is an example of empathy shown by Jett. As a result of the empathy shown by Jett, no accidents have occurred since…

At least 161 orcas have died in captivity at Seaworld due to the small enclosures and dangerous training. Seaworld is a marine resort that captives water related animals such as orcas, dolphins, and flamingos. They train the animals to put on shows and do tricks that they would never naturally do. Tilikum, a 22 foot, 12,500 pound orca, was captured in November of 1983 when he was just a calf. Trainer Keltie Byrne was pulled to the bottom of a tank by Tilikum and drowned.…
The overall power and unpredictability of nature is also a concept that humans today still have not totally grasped. This blurred line is showed clearly in both Blackfish and Jurassic World. The killer whales at SeaWorld, on many occasions, threatened and killed many trainers over the years, and proved that even animals born into captivity will always have wild instincts. No matter how much training, lack of communication with the creatures limits the capability of controlling a 100% of their actions. This is also seen with Indominus Rex when the workers and creators had no power over the animal and did not even know the true powers of the animal.…
(“SeaWorld of Hurt”). Since the orcas break their teeth, it causes the tanks to be a hazard. Tilikum’s teeth are worn down to the nubs from gnawing on the metal bars. The tanks at SeaWorld are also a hazard to the trainers. According to PETA, “…areas surrounding the orca performance tank were in disrepair and contained cracked and crumbling concrete and rusty beams that could pose a threat to the health and safety of both the animals and workers.”…
However, because the directors were inspired by a SeaWorld trainer’s death to produce Blackfish, it could be argued that Blackfish’s creators exploited that SeaWorld trainer’s tragic demise to push their own agenda. SeaWorld is fighting back because they must, or else they would look like they do not care about either their orcas or the death of one of their employees. Unfortunately, Tilikum’s death is only encouraging more unfair ammo against SeaWorld, even though there is no evidence that Tilikum’s death was…
Do you have a favorite place? I know I have a favorite place it is SeaWorld because people are so joyful there and it is a really pleasant place to go to if you need to go on a vacation this spring break or this summer. Now I will be talking about their activities there what you could do there when you go there you want to. I would also talk about the appearance like how it looks and more. Mostly but not least I will be talking about their food like what they eat in Florida or do they eat the same food like we already do now.…
