The Tragic Death Of Jose Fernandez

The baseball world was stunned early Sunday morning in hearing that beloved Miami Marlins superstar, Jose Fernandez's life came to a tragic end. Fernandez who was just 24 years old when he was killed from a boating accident off the coast of Fl., was the Marlins ace and was just in the beginning of his promising Major League Baseball career. Most importantly, he was a father to be and was finally settling into life after a chaotic childhood.

The news of his death rocked everyone in MLB, especially those in the Marlin's organization and left many teary eyed during the press conference of his death. Players and coaches wore their black jerseys in honor of Fernandez.

"There's no words to describe how this organization feels," Marlins president David Samson said. "Jose was someone who we've known since he was a drafted young man, and I think when you talk about a tragedy like this, there are no words that come to

His personality was so overpowering that you could not help to smile when you saw him on and off the field, he was just that guy who's joy was infectious. Fernandez played the game with such emotion, energy and passion that he became a transcendent player over his four-year big league career.

In reaction to Fernandez's death, players from all around baseball paid respect to the fallen superstar. David Ortiz in his final career game at Tropicana Field, asked the Tampa Bay Rays organization to cancel their pre-game ceremony they had prepared for him and instead hold a moment of silence in honor of the young ace. During the moment of silence, Ortiz was overcome with emotions as he wiped tears off his face. Fernandez's teammate Dee Gordon was spotted kneeling toward the mound with the number '16'- Fernandez's number, painted on it moments after the news broke of Jose's
