It explains how children develop, learn and adjust to people and stressors that come into contact with the child. The Microsystem is made up of people that have daily contact with the child and directly impact the individual. The healthier and better the daily interaction are with the individual the better development and adjustment the child will have. This was the case with Sophia and her microsystem. Sophia’s microsystem included her immediate family, friends, and church community. Sophia’s family Is very close and are all supportive of each other. When her father passed away her family would constantly call and check on her. They would take her out to movies or to the park. As for her friends they were incredibly attentive to her feelings and encouraged her to grief, they would come over often to watch movies together, they constantly tried to make her laugh. After her father past away her microsystem had been destabilized but it was the relationships within her microsystem that helped her adjust to the absence of her father. According to Bronfenbrenner, a child would be greatly impacted if there was a shift in their microsystem.
