One character, the Prince, even explicitly states this when he said, “See, what a scourge is laid upon your hate, / That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love.” (5.3). Clearly, the Prince blaming the deaths of Romeo and Juliet on the hatred of the families; however, he is also suggesting that the two families are being punished by a higher power. Prince also seems to address the irony in which the hatred was punished with love which adds to the thought that Juliet’s demise taught a very clear lesson about the downsides of hate. This theme was also clear when Juliet faked her passing, which resulted in misery. First to find her dead was the Nurse, who was cried out upon seeing what appeared to be Juliet’s dead body (4.5). Since she was basically Juliet’s mother figure the Nurse would be the one who spent the most time raising said Capulet girl. Finding the girl she considered to be her daughter dead is a very scarring and traumatic experience, making it clear that when she cried for help and wailed about Juliet’s death that she was shattered. It is very clear that once more, from her mother

This change shows through in the first fight scene between the Montagues and the Capulets, during the fight between him and Juliet about the wedding, and the suicide of Juliet and Romeo.…

Many times we see Romeo out with his friends and family, but we rarely see Juliet with any friends or extended family. Having the nurse as her best friend is slightly weighed against her favor, and partially due to the overprotective tendencies of her parents. There were even times where the Nurse, who was supposed to be the one who stood by and fought for Juliet the most, had gone and supported Lord and Lady Capulet’s unfair ideas even though they were detrimental to Juliet’s wants and needs. The Nurse had even helped Romeo and Juliet marry, but was quick to change her tune after Romeo was banished, despite Juliet’s…

The finale of the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was very regrettable for both the Montagues and the Capulets. The feuding families mourned over their lost loved ones because of some poor choices made by themselves. A Capulet would never let his daughter marry who she wanted especially if he was their rival, a Montague. Mr. Capulet didn’t let Juliet make her own decisions, even though she was old enough to think and have her own personal thoughts and feelings. When you get treated unfairly, you normally don’t want to respect or listen to the person who did you wrong.…

The decision that I found to be particularly hasty was Romeo's decision to commit suicide. I believe that this decision was impulsive and fueled by Romeo's emotions. It lead to not only his death but his lover Juliet as well. If Romeo had been more thoughtful instead of letting his grief and desperate thoughts overwhelm him, he could of created a different ending for the play, one not as tragic. Before Romeo made such a decision, he had been waiting for Friar Lawrence in Mantua to send him news of the uplifting sorts when Balthazar had told him that Juliet had died.…

Romeo and Juliet has many elements of romance and tragedy, but some people argue that it is more of a romance than a tragedy. How can Romeo and Juliet be a romance if they were doomed from the start? Romeo and Juliet is more of a tragedy than a romance because their relationship was kept secret, they were not able to love each other to their full potential and they both commit suicide at the end due to a misunderstanding caused by one mistake. The first reason Romeo and Juliet is more of a tragedy than a romance is because they kept their relationship a secret. Because the Capulets and Montagues were enemies, Romeo and Juliet thought it was best to keep their love for each other and marriage hidden.…
