George Orwell, in his immensely popular allegorical novella Animal Farm (1945), satirizes the political situation in pre-war Europe; especially the communist regime of the Soviet Union, whose dictator was Joseph Stalin. Alluding to the biblical story of The Ten Commandments, whose inscriptions were the law of God; the animals, once they take charge of the farm, they write their own commandments (the Seven Commandments), which are laws they should respect. The most striking one at the beginning is “All animals are equal”. However, it gradually becomes clear that certain animals do not abide by the laws initially inscribed. By the end of the novella, this quote is modified, "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others". Here, the inequality between the people is most evident. In North Korea, the President is a God- like figure who has control over every single citizen. The whole country is ruled by propaganda stipulated by the ruling cabal; there is complete censure, there is no freedom of speech, the laws imposed have distinct bias towards the ruling class, whereby people may be punished to great extent for not adhering to the implemented rules of the regime. Meaning that people could be imprisoned, fined, tortured for such absurd ‘crimes’ as failing to express their love for their leader, or not crying enough at a president’s funeral. China is a further example of such a communist regime, where people enjoy few human rights. People have limited access to information and social media, through which they are forbidden to express any opposition to the regime. Tiananmen Square Massacre is one example out of many, of the brutality of China’s political leadership, when one disagrees with their
