The Titans may be one of the most powerful group of Greek hero’s, not only coming from the Golden Age, but any time period. That is exactly what the name means, “They were immortal giants of incredible strength and knowledge of old religion rituals and magic”. They were also known as the Elder Gods and came from Mount Othrys (“The Titans”, 2016). So why not name a football team the Titans? Whether it is a professional, college, high school or any level of competition having an intimidating name is quite scary. It starts back in 1969 when the American Football League and the National Football League merged as one. I mean in almost every movie a Titan is a phenomenal character or object. Like mention before, the kids from Remember the Titans wanted to prove what their team name stood for and they did. Another scenario of this is the actual professional football team, the Tennessee Titans. The players on that team are big, strong athletes that want to prove they are like the Greek Titans. There are many more people out there that want to show how immortal and knowledgeable they really are, just like the titans. The legacy of what a Titan is should never be forgotten. Generations from now should still believe that a Titan IS a immortal, knowledgeable being that has great power.
In conclusion, the Titans are one of the most powerful groups of Greek hero’s. Being immortals with incredible strength and knowledge let them practically rule the world and scare anyone in their way. As you saw when Uranus got overthrown by his own children. This is why the Tennessee Titans are a strong a dominate football, because they live up to the name that was given to them. We cannot forget the unforgettable story of T.C Williams high school either, who rose to a victorious

There has been many arguments about Native American sports team mascots, name and logos. It is time for sports teams to just get rid of the “racist’’ sports imagery because the protesters will not stop talking about them. some of these teams using Native American mascots include the washington Redskins, the Florida State Seminoles, the Cleveland Indians, the Atlanta Braves, the Cherokee Braves and many more. Using native american images and names in professional, colligate, and high school sports teams does not reinforce and perpetuate stereotypes because the mascots are used to represent native symbols and to not offend and its also to represent the heritage and the way they used to do things.…

I do think that teams should have to change their name if it is disrespectful to other teams or players. But I think it should be something a little more disrespectful, like I don't see anything wrong with the team name redskins. The brownes I would have a problem with or the twinkies especially little eyes that would be very racist well I think so anyway. Teams should not have these kind of names to begin with. Now after they made it their team name you have a problem.…

Similarities of this story and movie are that King Acrisius ordered the execution of his daughter, Danae, and her son, Perseus.…
