Personal Narrative: What Is A Soulmate?

From the time we approach kindergarten to the time we can make mature decisions for ourselves we are eager to find-- "the one." For many different reasons we develop this sense of patience; some wait for sex, some wait to become emotionally engaged, and some just are not interested in searching. An online dictionary defines a soulmate to be "a person with whom one has a strong affinity, shared values and tastes, and often a romantic bond. ("soulmate")" Mainstream media has illustrated soulmates to be the couple that everyone should strive to be. Personally, a soulmate uses for one 's own ends, lies without regret, and attempts to swindle everyone they become associated with.

At just fourteen years old, I thought I had found my husband. He worked at McDonalds, and as I walked in, he thought I was beautiful despite the bad hair day. Working to get the orders to customers, he started to make a smoothie and suddenly slipped in a puddle of water, but the extraordinary part about it is that his eyes were on me the whole time. After a failed attempt at getting my number, he said "I let a good one get away," as I started to leave the restaurant.
