The Elizabethan Era took place in old England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth the first which was took place from 1558 to 1603.

So, what was the elizabethan era?
Basically, it was a period of time that is considered as one of the most fascinating times of history in what we know as England today

The reigning monarch of the kingdom decided what religion people should follow.
When Queen Elizabeth the first took the throne, she changed the kingdoms religion from Catholic to Protestant.
Anyone who refused to follow the main monarch 's choice of religion would be jailed or even executed. (mostly executed)

In this Elizabethan era, there were many social classes that were differentiated through the people’s power, wealth, bloodline, etc.
The way people lived individually, with their families, the way they had gotten married and the rights they received were also dependant on their classes
Lastly, at this time, there were 6 popular social classes that the people were separated into

Bottom of the hierarchy and the poorest of all classes
Worked for the higher classes
These people were not always livin’ it rough, the queen started a government funded program in order to help these people.
Also, a lot of times these people could not afford to have families so they did not get married

Women in the Elizabethan Era had very limited roles within society
Their main aspect of life at that time was to be a mother and a housewife
Compared to men, they were considered as the weaker sex and always need a man to look after them in life whether that their father or husband after marriage
Next, many women in the higher classes were highly educated much like the Queen, but the women in the lower classes were not allowed to attend school and would usually be tutored at home
Lastly, if women were to work, they were not allowed to work in professions such as law, medicine, politics, etc. Although, they were allowed to work in domestic services such as cook, maids, etc. In addition, they were also not allowed to vote

Babies were desired not for the family aspect, but rather for the economic and sentimental reason. If the kid grew up well, they can prove to be valuable and bring money to the family.
When they did come out healthy, children were cherished, the wealthier families bought many toys for their children like dolls and such.
