In the story The Time Machine, the Time Traveller describes his experience of time travelling to his friends who don't believe his story. Throughout the story, he comes across explaining these creatures called Eloi's and Morlocks. He describes the Eloi's to be existent in the year of 802,701 AD, who are upper class individuals that lived in luxury and spoke in a simple language. They are also the main food source to the Morlocks.

On the other hand, Morlocks are described as dull, grey skin, chinless, large red eye, flaxen haired creatures who live underground with ancient machines. They are described as weak as one but with a swarm of them can be hard to fight off. They do not like the light and have a mini relationship with the Eloi's because they make their clothes and feed them. They only work below so the upper class

Before the Time Traveller went into the world of the Morlocks, an character who was an Eloi named Weena was warning him not to go down to their world. Once he entered it was really dark and smelly. He passed my aisles were raw meat which I believe to be dead Eloi lay. There came to an event where he had to fight with them. They only defense that he found worked against them would be the light of the matches he had stored in his pocket. Once the Morlock got a sense of the light , they would disappear one sight, but once it was out went back to crawling on the wall to get back to him. Another event was when The Time Traveller was in the woods with Weena. He woke up to the fire he lit the night before being out and Morlocks surrounding him.. Summing up, a fire out-broke and all the Morlocks once again left. Going back to how organsims are limited to their ability to survive based on their surroundings, The Time Traveller wouldn't be able to survive without his matches and Morlocks wouldn't be able to survive without the
