My Grandpa

The project I’m doing is about the time I lost my grandpa unexpectedly. My larger picture is the appreciation I had for my grandpa who will never be forgotten. He was a great grandfather, husband, and father to his two step-daughters. Everyone appreciates someone in his or her life and the person I appreciate is my grandpa. I chose this topic because Bill was my step-grandpa and he became a big part of my life and the person I am today. I realized this with his recent passing in March. The vessel I chose is a three ring binder with pictures of him and me on the front and back. The pictures are to show everyone the memories we shared together before his passing ranging from when I was a little girl to a seventeen-year-old. Having …show more content…
He was always one of those grandparents who enjoyed listening to stories about what all went down at your games or how you won it. He always would have a huge smile on his face when he would see a picture of me in the local newspaper. As soon as he saw my pictures in the paper he would cut them out immediately and give me a call to tell me how proud he was of me and what I had accomplished. He spoke very highly of me to all his friends who knew him in town; everyone around town knew him in some sort of way. My grandpa was someone who would put a smile on my face and say funny things to cheer people up. He never liked to see his grandkids sad. He was so incredibly proud of my grades in school that he started a college fun for me to save for the day I head off to college. He would give me twenty dollars for every A I got, ten for every B, and five dollars for any C’s. He made me realize how important school really was. He made me realize how much I want to succeed in life as I grow up through the years as my high school career is soon coming to an end with just one year left, one which will go by

An item of remembrance that captures identity in our family is a statue of a Peruvian citizen with a cleft palate. This statue has a profound history in my family. “You are just like your grandfather.” Is something I’ve heard almost weekly for as long as I can remember. It is also the best compliment I will ever receive. If there is someone I could ever strive to be like it would be Kenneth Lampp. Sitting in his office chair with his white hair brushed back, ready to be hidden under a cowboy hat for the rest of the day.…
