Morissot and Sauvage are still being held hostage by the soldiers, not knowing the answers to any of the questions that they are asking, they stay silent. Throughout the interrogation, they are told that if they do not answer the questions, they will be killed. Eventually, they come to the realization that, they will die, for they do not know the answers to the questions they asked. Then, in “After The Ball”, Ivan goes home after seeing the colonel beat that man, and then a soldier who did not hit hard enough, confused about why the colonel would do that. He then states that he could not be with Verenka without thinking about what happened that night, and how her father was not who he thought he was. Finally, the falling action will ends with “Everyday Use”. Dee and Maggie’s mother has stood firm with her decision that Maggie should get the quilts, not Dee; even though Maggie said that Dee could have them instead. Morissot and Sauvage have realized that they will die, and have accepted it, and after not telling the soldiers what the passcode is, they are shot, killed, and thrown into the sea. While they did end up dying, they had accepted that fact before they were killed, they knew they were not going to get out alive. Next the movie will change to the final scene from “After The Ball”. Ivan has now completely fallen out of love with Verenka, every time he saw her, he was reminded of the morning after the ball, when he saw her father beating another man. He has come to the realization that love does not always last, it often fades away, until it is no longer there. The last scene in the movie will be from “Everyday Use”. As her mother stays firm on not giving her the quilts, Dee realizes that she will not be getting them, but her sister will instead. Once she realizes this, she flees from the house without a word to both her mother or to Maggie. Once that scene finishes, the movie is done and
