What are the three things that most people might think started the Civil War . The Civil war started in 1861 and ended 1865 , it happened in the United States of America. What Caused the Civil War ? The three main causes of the Civil War between the North and the South were politics , slavery , economy . The first main cause of the Civil War was conflict between the North and the South about politics. There were lots of problems politically especially with trying to please both the North and South for example South Carolina wanted to Secede from the constitution so they could leave the union. Politics helped cause the Civil War because they couldn’t always please both sides and each side wanted to benefit themselves instead arguments and disagreements and that is why politics helped caused the cause the Civil War . …show more content…
Slavery was either wanted or it was not . The North side did not want slaves and the South did . The North was a free state ; the South had slaves that had most of them working in the plantation. Slavery helped caused the Civil War because it was seen as unfair because they are people too and they deserve rights but never ended up getting them . Another significant cause of the Civil War was conflict between the North and South about the economy. The economy was very important because that’s what gave the people the right and there living. The reason the economy helped cause the Civil War because they were taking land away from some of the landowners and was preventing people from making a living .
