The Three Little Pigs

Decent Essays
Did you ever think about the phrase “hard work pays off”? Did you ever think it was true? In the story “the three little pigs”, we could see the two little pigs were eaten by the fox because they were careless and irresponsible while building their houses. However, the third pig worked hard and took its time in building its house which made it impossible for the fox to hunt it down.

Firstly, the third pig is the most admirable because it is clever, we could see that when the author say, “the little pig got up at 5, and got the turnips and was home before six” (page 14). The pig had a smart plan of going and getting the apples before the time it decided to go with the fox. It knew that the fox was going to eat her so it got what it wanted

The character from the lord of the flies that I admire most is Piggy. There had been countless times where I have been pushed to the point of giving up, but every single time I have had a way to escape, whether that was putting it off, making excuses or letting someone else do it, but in Piggy’s situation he had nowhere to run from his problem but he still powered through. He is a leader, He is relentless. He is thoughtful. That is why I admire Piggy the most.…

Ladies and gentleman of the jury: The Pigman by Paul Zindel is an exceptional piece of literature that is great for projects. With only a few shortcomings, The Pigman is a great choice for young adult readers looking for a true, raw story and is a favorable pick among schools. To begin, the story is narrated by John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen, two teenagers in the late sixties. Through a difficult series of events, they learn responsibility. This responsibility is a maturity which is portrayed differently than your average "coming of age" story.…

Every character in a story has a unique trait about them. Some characters possess great leadership qualities, others can think rationally and outside the box, and a few were power hungry and wanted dominion. In the Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, in which the boys are trapped on the island due to a plane crash, Piggy was classified as the sidekick of Ralph and acted as the adviser of the leaders. While the boys were fooling around and attempting to survive on the island, Piggy represents rationalism, loyalty and civilization. However, despite all of Piggy’s great qualities of being able to think big picture, he was very flawed, most likely the most flawed character in the book.…

Coming-of-age stories detail the growth—physical, mental, and emotional—of a young character who is aging into adulthood. The character in question is often presented with obstacles in their journey. These obstacles can range from internal conflicts to adversaries who feel threatened by (or do not understand) the protagonist. The main character must pass the impediments in their path, and learn to understand who they are in the process. Verlyn Flieger's Pig Tale shows its audience the life and trials of a young girl named Mokie on her path to adolescence.…

What’s that Pig Outdoors by Henry Kisor is both a dream and a nightmare. It is a book written by a deaf man, and self proclaimed to be for the deaf. Kisor’s autobiography takes the reader through his life, starting with the meningitis that caused him to be deaf at age 3, to his adult life as a journalist. In between, Kisor experiences some discrimination, such as not being allowed to be a lifeguard, but goes largely unopposed throughout his life. Kisor’s parents are very accepting, and fight hard for him to have the resources he needs.…

Authors attempt to portray human experience through characters and the different challenges they face. The average person will never be stranded on an island or be placed into a battle arena. As a result, these appalling situations cause human responses that one would normally not do. In Golding’s Lord of the Flies and in Ross’ The Hunger Games, central characters are either inherently good, somewhat stumble into ferocity, or completely descend into savagery. People placed into a dangerous situation, such as being stranded on an island or in a battle arena, do not always turn to aggressive actions.…

Irony It is ironic how Simon is murdered for being mistaken as a beast when he is considered the Christ like figure on the island. Jesus is universally known to be the savior, while Simon was on his way to save the boys literally and metaphorically by telling them truth about the beast, he was murdered for being mistaken as the devil (beast). It is also ironic that Jack says, “after all, we are not savages” in the beginning of the story, but he himself becomes the leader of the savage tribe. The naval officer thinks that they are playing when he reaches the island but Jack and his hunters are actually trying to kill Ralph. Piggy, who is one of the most civilized, persistently tries to convince the others of their foolish actions, "which is better, law and rescue, or hunting and breaking things up?"…
