This is a tough job because the coach will have to cut people from the tryout. Then the coach must deal with the aspect of paper work such as physicals and insurance type stuff. The coach ten has to call coaches to set up games and travel schedule. Then the coach has to order the gear for the team. These jobs may not be done in this particular order but these are general things high school basketball coaches have to do. Some cons of the job are long hours, maybe establishing a bad name payment is subtle and losing. Pros of the job include building relationship with kids, winning and establishing a good name. The way I will prepare myself for this job is by starting out small maybe recreational coaching first. I will then try to move up to an assistant coach then eventually a head coach. Once I actually get the job I will be expected to win games and form good sportsmanship out of my team. Things may be similar but differentiate on the college level of basketball coaching. College athletics are a big step to take for athletes it is also a jump in the level of coaching. There are thirty two teams in the NBA all over the state. The teams take private planes to the games, eat at the finest restaurants and get treated very well. Coaches are well known everywhere due to publicity and the spotlight that is on the NBA. Having a chance to win an NBA championship is a goal that all coaches would like to achieve. Cons of the job are the risk of being fired at anytime if a team is not winning. The more a team wins the more ticket sells and exposure the team gets. The coach has a tough job to manage egos and off the court issues as well. The NBA season is very long they play eighty two games in the regular season including the playoffs. This takes a lot of time coaches have to be with their families. Coaching is something I want to do because I have had the opportunity o have some great coaches and they have shaped my life tremendously. I would like to ultimately make a decent living off of coach but foremost establish bonds with people and be able to help someone’s life how my coach’s have helped mine. The road will be a long one but one that is worth it. Coaching is not easy to get all the experience in itself
