1.2.1. Equity and Justice
People are to be treated fairly – not discriminated against, abused or exploited. Justice is concerned with power sharing and preventing the abuse of power. Those well positioned to assert their rights have a reciprocal duty to exercise care towards those who depend on them for their wellbeing. In a just community, all members can access opportunities that allow for their full participation in that community.

1.3. Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct is based on principles, values and behaviors outlined in the Code of Ethics. This Code applies to all staff and students of the University. Contractors, their employees and representatives, and visitors engaging in any University-related activity are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with this Code.
Members of all of these groups have a general duty to conduct themselves in a manner that will maintain and strengthen the public's trust and confidence in the integrity of IUB and take no actions incompatible with their obligations to the University.

1.3.4. Obligation of Individuals
Individuals employed or enrolled at IUB are responsible for their own behavior and obliged to conduct themselves in the following manner with regard to each and every undertaking associated with University business:
• Behaving honestly and with integrity;
• Acting with care and diligence;
• Treating everyone with respect and courtesy and without harassment;
• Using University property and funds efficiently, carefully and honestly with due authorization and without misappropriation;
• Preserving and respecting the confidentiality of University records, including student records. They do not externally disclose confidential records or other nonpublic information without appropriate authorization, and any confidential record or information they access as a result of their position or duty is neither exploited for personal benefit nor misused for any unauthorized
