THE THREE ESSENTIAL DIMENSIONS OF FAITH
Faith is a way of life and it is about completely believing and trusting God and all of His plans for us. Faith is vitally essential in our Christian life because it encompasses every part of an individual; his/her mind, will and heart.
1. Believing (Mind)
The first dimension of faith is the most basic one and this includes recognizing the truth about Jesus Christ and his own teachings to His people. We believe that Jesus Christ is the one chosen by God to save and delivered mankind from its sins. Subsequently, this dimension of faith entails us to deepen our personal knowledge and understanding of Him and his teachings to us.
2. Doing (Will)
Faith is not only knowing but also doing our mission which is to follow, love and serve God and our neighbors. The second dimension refers to our actions in what we uphold in our faith and our need for Christ’s spirit in actualizing our faith. It is our commitment to obey what God has in store for us. Also, we must commit ourselves and exemplify the value of justice, love and stewardship because this is our calling from God and it is the application of our faith into real life situations.

Entrusting/Worshipping (Heart)
Faith is allowing and trusting God’s hands to take care of our lives. A perfect example of this is when Abraham obeyed God’s command and left everything behind to transfer for a foreign land. This dimension of faith not only comes from the mind and will but most especially it comes from the heart. It is a genuine connection between God and an individual through prayer and

It is often confused what faith is and what it is not. Indeed it is an abstract term which its definition will change depending on who you ask. Throughout the works of two authors, Faith by Terrence W. Tilley and The Essential Tillich by Paul Tillich, the term faith gets evaluated and explained in a more in depth fashion. Everyone has faith; it does not have to be a religious belief, but in fact it can be a relationship with something, a center of value, or a motive. Faith, to me, is an abstruse concept where the components of belief, hope and morality unite to form a synonymous definition.…

Faith is the strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. This is important to Christians because it’s what we follow and we believe about Jesus and God. Everyone perception of faith is different but what Azusa Pacific aims to do is to include everyone of faith. In the last line of the statement of faith, it says, “We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.” That is very important because it states that there is a unit between all Christians and they all pray for one another. My definition of faith is constantly being shaped and challenged by the world and different experiences around me. Our past has so much to say about who we are as individuals, just as the history of the bible has so much to tell us about how to interpret it and make connections in the present. My life has been built on a strong foundation of church family and constant love from our creator. In our readings, I feel that Sumney does a great job of explaining how the bible is set up and how we as students can begin diving into the content that it holds.…

Having faith is something that many learn in the early stages of their lives. It is a trait that everyone should acquire as it helps shape one's personality and the way they act towards others. After reading Wiesel’s Night and Stienbeck’s Of Mice and Men and watching The Wave, the idea of obtaining the good of faith and about believing in your surrounding people is the most important message to be acquired because faith is an important quality that can teach people how to act better in general situations, and it can help people throughout their lives. If it is not learned the society we live in will be more mistrusting, and the youth of years to come will not be as comprehensive.…

“Teaching faith to assist the “salvation” process is a lofty ideal for schools”; this is one of the main statements of Teaching Faith in the Twenty First Century: Pointers for Christian Schools, by its author Barry Hill (pg. 18). In this article, Hill attempts firstly to describe faith itself by unraveling the etymology and historic definitions of the word faith. The definitions that the author uses are referrals from several 20-century writers, as well as from seven different languages at distinct historical timespans. Based on the most common definitions of faith, Hill constructs and displays nine different aspects of faith and later what he calls the six “faces of faith in schools” (pg. 21). Through this entire endeavor, the author reaches into another of his main conclusions, that “genuine faith means to “live in the active voice” in the conversation with God” (pg. 19).…

Faith, from the Miriam Webster dictionary is defined as, “A strong belief or trust in something.” And Biblically, which is stated in Hebrews 11:1, faith is described as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. In the movie The Wizard of Oz we are witness to a lot of examples of faith. In the movie, the main character, Dorothy, wishes she could just leave Kansas and experience new and exciting things. Before she’s going to leave, she visits a professor in her town to ask him about her future, even though I believed he was a fortune teller. She thinks that he knows about her life, but he looks at a picture from her bag when she is closing her eyes. I think that he is the first person that Dorothy had faith in, during the movie. The movie portrays her being sucked into a tornado and landing in a strange place, called Oz. When she gets there she realizes that she accidentally killed an evil witch.…

Faith is common in our everyday lives. For example, the placebo effect is one thing that tests people’s faith. On the occasion of taking any kind of medication, typically people put faith into it in hopes that it will work. Studies have show that people who are on a placebo with an illness tend to get slightly better . The placebo is simply putting blind faith into a medication, in hopes that it will make a person well again. With that in perspective we are able to see that sometimes with given information, we can perceive the possibility of better outcomes. Another example that falls under faith would be religion. When somebody takes after a religion, it implies they have full confidence in standards, thus they do their best to do no wrongs as indicated by within their faith. In light of this, people can either blindly or purposefully ignore types of knowledge because it may not coincide with their faith. Due to this, perspective is at a middle ground with faith for it depends on the knower’s beliefs and what they follow that will determine how they choose to interpret any kind of knowledge that is given to…

Faith: having a strong belief in a religion, or an even stronger belief in a God. I personally believe in God the Father, and that he created each and every one of us in his own image. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and brought us new life through his death and resurrection. In my faith I stand as a Catholic, which means I believe in only one God. However, God is three persons, also known as the Holy Trinity, meaning there is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In addition, as a Catholic I believe that Adam and Eve disobeyed God leaving every baby born with original sin. From experience, I have been cleansed of my original sin through a process called Baptism. Baptism was the moment…
