Overnight shipping and 24 hour express shipping. It is the biggest need that FedEx works to give to their customers. The founder of FedEx Fred Smith saw a need for the future of shipping with the growing use of technology. He was able to help many companies who had to get computer parts out very quickly. He was able to find a trend involving the needs and wants of consumers and capitalizes upon them. With a new shipping concept in mind he had to figure out his strategy to market his company. FedEx starts out with really great intentions for their company, using things like the handheld computers in order to keep up with real time travel of packages with a big part in the customer satisfaction. With the amount of money being spent on shipping FedEx felt it was a must that packages arrived on time because otherwise people would not spend the extra amount of time to get things like overnight or express shipping for their packages. The problem that has most recently come up with FedEx is social media, there have been many cases on social media of FedEx employees caught on camera not following the trends and values set forth by the company. This has brought them a lot of bad imagry with their consumers and may make many of them think twice before going with FedEx for shipping …show more content…
They were founded around the idea of doing something new that has not been done by any other company. FedEx went to build a strong foundation for their costumers to rely on this was all based around product concept. They stood by their slogan “When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight”. Many customers flocked to them because of the different shipping speeds they offered. Whit the wide range of shipping options they were able to offer the best and widest selection of shipping to meet the costumers. With a high rate of accurate shipping they were able to become very successful with those who had high shipping demand needs. Now not everyone needed so many shipping options and some may have felt overwhelmed by all the options that were offered.
