The Three Brothers
Several people have many curiosities about the greek gods and what they did. I have been wondering about Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades the most. These three brothers had to “draw straws” to see who would rule the sky, the underworld, and the water. The luckiest god, Zeus, pick the sky first. Poseidon picked next. He thought that Zeus was dumb for picking the sky because there is nothing there. Poseidon picked the sea. Hades, the unluckiest god, was forced to be the god of the underworld. From that day on Hades has always wanted to have revenge on his other brothers. Zeus, the god of the sky, made everything out of nothing. He over heard what Poseidon said about how there was nothing in the sky. Zeus strived to prove to his brother that there were innumerable things in the sky. He thought that Zeus was thick-headed for picking the sky because Poseidon thought there was nothing in the air. Because Zeus proved Poseidon wrong, Poseidon “ Chose the sea. He had always wanted it.” Poseidon created an abundant amount of objects in the sea and ocean. One thing he made were are the animals and creatures that are in the oceans now. He created,”Jellyfish, the swordfish, blowfish, sea cow, and many others.” For Athene he made the horse to win over her favor. Before he made this animal, Poseidon tried to win over Athene, but Athene didn’t let him win. Athene on the other hand, challenged Poseidon to a single combat. After they fought for a while Athene just said to poseidon to create the most beautiful mammal she has ever seen. Poseidon went off that day and started with his hard challenge because he was so desperate. When Poseidon was finished, He created the horse. Athene was pleased of this beautiful animal and loved
