The Thor is a movies based on Norse mythology. Thor is a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightening storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of makind, and also hallowing and fertility. There is a huge difference in the movie and real Thor although the movie got the basics right. Thor is a defender of mankind. and he's got his handy hammer. Those are big but just about everything else is different. The Thor of mythology is supposed to be a red head and have a beard, this was the time in society when beards are important signifier of masculinity . The real Thor in mythology is not as muscular as the one in movie more over he has blonde hairs where he is supposed to have red hairs. besides differences there are also similarities
