Nurses would need to volunteer to be part of a seminar, and to participate in Jin Shin Jyutsu. If the nurses are not willing to try the Jin Shin Jyutsu then they could try another form of stress relief such as yoga, meditation, or listening to nature sounds. Nurse leaders would be able to promote this technique more efficiently if they were also a part of the study. Nurse leaders need to show commitment to caring for others, especially patients, even if they are not directly caring for them. A nurse leader also needs to be an example of self-worth, and show self-confidence to nurses and staff members. For example, the nurse would work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and have Thursday, Friday, Saturday off in order to care for themselves. When a person works to many days in a row, or does a shift where it they are scheduled on a day then off a day for several in a row, it can be stressful to the body and mind. Stress can lead to a decline in compassion and care that is given to patients. The seminar could include information from Jean Watson’s theory of caring. Also at the seminar presenters could discuss how Watsons theory has changed other hospitals, and improved staff morale as well as patients’
