(1) In your own words, define, then compare and contrast the different theories of intelligence that are presented in the textbook, including Spearman 's G Factor, Gardner 's Multiple Intelligences, Sternberg 's Triarchic Theory and the concept of Emotional Intelligence.

Sternberg proposed that there consist three types of intelligence: analytical, creative and practical. Analytic intelligence consists of problem-solving; creative intelligence deals with new ideas, new ways of problem-solving and processing certain aspects of information; practical intelligence, in other words, "street smarts," involves the ways people get through life. Which theory (or theories) listed above do you disagree with most and why? Explain your answers.

The triarchic theory proposed by Sternberg and Gardner 's theory of multiple intelligence would benefit most from each other if they were to be combined. The triarchic theory would be the base of intelligence while Gardner 's theory of multiple intelligences would be the subcategories of it. Although, Gardner 's theory does propose some types of intelligence which should not necessarily be considered a type of intelligence, he does present more to the table and expands the original theory of Sternberg, consequently covering more bases.

(3) If you were to develop a theory of intelligence what criteria would you use for deciding which abilities to include as aspects of intelligence and which to exclude? Make sure to include and describe at least three different criteria in your theory. Explain your

Emotional intelligence would be the base of my theory, without it I believe we would not be able to function properly, learn efficiently, or deal with many situations. With emotional intelligence as the base, we are able to take on a variety of tasks at a time and in turn be predisposed to learn efficiently. For example, someone who does great in school socially and academically, does sports, is in clubs, and does community service would have high emotional intelligence and correlates with the study done by psychologist Lewis Terman. With the help of creative intelligence, people are able to adapt to new situations and concepts. My theory, consisting of these three concepts, makes a great beginning to the multifaceted accepts of the human intelligence.
