The topic I am going to discuss is discrimination. The reason I am writing about this topic is because, discrimination is a very important and serious topic in today’s day and age. My theme for my writing is to not judge a book by it’s cover. One of the sources that I will be using is the story Hum by Naomi Shihab Nye. Another source I will be using is a video of a man named Freddie. As you will read, both sources show how people were discriminated in the past and that they are still being discriminated today.
In the video, “The Holocaust Explained,” Freddie talks about how the Jews were discriminated against during the holicoats/world war 2. An example to support my source is, when Freddie from the video said that as a young boy in school, he used to get beaten up because he was a dirty Jew. Here is a quote from the video, “The Holocaust Explained,” to support my reasoning. “We were picked up from the street, the Jews were picked up from the street to clean the pavement of the street with soap and water.
