His maturity is what forces him to fall in love with her, and nothing can be regulated because he does not have parents to look after him and tell him from what's right and wrong. With that being said my second reason on why he acted this way is because Megan's sister reminds him of his mother. Throughout the whole story, Magagna sister is described as a monthly figured person, one scene where we would see this is when ¨Megan's sister would come out on the doorstep to call her brother in for tea¨(381). Calling in younger siblings for dinner is something a mother would do, and is maybe the reason why it reminded him of his mother. Which again brings up the idea of parenting and how this boy's life would have been different if he had parents to guide him the right way in life. When he arrives at the bazaar it's nothing as he expected. The boys has negative aspects of the whole journey to the bazaar and at the bazaar. And when he examines the conversations between the two man and young lady that is when he hits reality. The boy realizes that the young woman shows no interest for the two man and is using them. Which is similar to his situation with Magan's sister and how she been using him this whole time. The way he is treated by the vendor also contribute to why he hits reality. It says in the text “The tone of her voice was not encouraging; She seemed to have spoken to me out of a sense of duty”(385). He comes to a conclusion that there was nothing special about Araby and this reality heartbreakingly crushes all of his feeling and his awareness that he built of love. It's the lady action and the dialog that provokes the peak of the story because it brings the boy to reality, it washes away his understanding and assumption he had a love away. Which is mentioned by the boy when he says, “Gazing up into the darkness I saw myself as a creature driven and derided by vanity; my eyes burned with anguish and anger”(386). Which again bring backs the idea of parenting, and how this boy life would have been different if he had guardians who actually cared about him, or even just took care of him.
