All epic heroes overcome powerful forces that arise from their particular ways of life. When the story started there was a lot of i didn't understand but never the less there was a lot of blood and killing in this story. There was only one way to become famous and that's by fighting to be remembered in the later years when you pass away. The epic hero in this story is beowulf. There is a theme throughout this poem. The universal theme of this story is good vs evil is very consistent throughout the story. All the battles in this poem the good person was trying to overtake the evil which his greatest battle was grendal.
