The problem some people have with the idea of equality is they fear that everyone will be forced into acting and doing things the same way. In the novel Anthem by Ayn Rand, equality is frequent theme throughout the story. In the novel’s society equal means everyone is exactly the same with no individual personalities. The important factor to having a society where all people are equal is to acknowledge that equality does not mean that everyone is the same. “Each of us is different in our own special way but we also have the common qualities that make us all humans. Within our government the Constitution was created stating what our freedoms are. Without the amendments in this important document many of our nations peoples wouldn't have nearly the same lives they do today.
