In life, humans have the ability to blame someone or something for an issue, no matter how little it may be. I guess you can say it’s a way of relieving stress off one’s shoulder. With blaming someone, the person has the ability to put the problem into someone’s hand. Blame creates no results, but more negativity than what is necessary. With blaming someone, there comes the feeling of agony, sorrow, and grief. It’s natural to feel agony, sorrow, and grievance when one applies blame to the situation. In “Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abarie, the characters in the play blame one another for the death of a child name Danny, who was Becca and Howie’s child. Becca and Howie are hurt about the incident and can’t do nothing, but try to move on but take moving on into a whole different situation. The main characters in the play were Becca, Izzy, Howie, Nat, and Jason. The overall theme of the play “Rabbit Hole” is blame because, the actors elicit signs of agony, sorrow, and …show more content…
Howie states “You’re trying to get rid of him. I’m sorry, but that’s how it feels to me sometimes. Every day, it’s something else. It feels like you’re trying to get rid of any evidence he was ever here” (83). Howie is acting upon the issue of Becca being selfish and only thinking about herself and not how he feels. Howie wants to make a point and state that, with what is going on, Becca is not making any positive progress with deleting the video. By deleting the video, she is rather killing Danny by erasing him from their life. This is not the progress that she needs. She is trap in rabbit hole and can’t seem to hop out of the hole. She is stuck. This is the reason why, the play is called “Rabbit Hole” because, Becca can’t seem to improve and move forward. She is trapped and can’t seem to hop out of it.
