The Terrible Two Toddlers And Tantrums Analysis

“STOP do not do that!” “I can not handle you!” Raising a child during their terrible two is not an easy task at all. In order to get more well informed about this stage period of the terrible two I watched a video titled "The Terrible Twos, Toddlers and Tantrums!" on youtube. The video was an interview to Jo Frost a global parenting expert that was part of the famous show “Supernanny” and to Carolyn Castiglia a comedian. On the interview they spoke of how research has found that tantrums and aggressive behavior that children have is inherit from their parent’s genes. Jo Frost explained that it was extremely important to identify and understand where the child’s temperament came from. However children have six types of play according to Parten. In order to have a better understanding of the different types of play I watched a video named "6 Types of Play." The first play is Unoccupied Play which consists of a child playing alone with no movement or with random movement. The second play is Solitary Play which is when the child only focuses on what they are doing and does not pay attention or care of what others are doing. Onlooker Play is the third play, on this play the child observes and learns what others are doing but does not want to join them. The fourth play is Parallel Play which consists of when a child learns from observing others and imitates how they play. Associative Play is the fifth play which is when children began to gain interest of playing with other children after they have already watched and learned. Finally the last step is Cooperative Play which is the play were the children learn to play with other children, join social bonds while they accept and understand the rules of playing.
