When it comes to the topic of abortions it is something of an uncomfortable topic; the termination of an unborn child can really make people feel uneasy. Abortions have only two-sides, Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, one is either for abortions or against them. However it is not that simple, because a woman is literally choosing if she is deciding if she wants to or is even ready to become a mother. According to GuttMacher, in 2011, it was reported that there had been over 1 million abortions and that number continues to decline. It is really difficult to discuss about abortion, since this is such a controversial thing many would rather avoid the topic in general and keep their views to themselves. Emergency contraception is a drug that reduces the chances of getting pregnant, and many places sell emergency contraception at any over the counter pharmacy. However, many think that emergency contraception is an “abortion pill”, because of the chemicals that is in an abortion pill, “Most laws take direct aim at surgical abortions, although some also target chemical abortions that use drugs like RU-486, a common chemical abortifacient” (O’Brien Flynn & Fretwell Wilson 72).
